Microsclerotherapy is a minimally invasive, procedure used to treat small, superficial spider veins and thread veins, primarily on the legs. It involves injecting a specialised chemical solution (sclerosant) directly into the veins with a fine needle, causing them to collapse, seal shut, and eventually fade as the body reabsorbs them.
Purpose: Effectively removes or significantly reduces the appearance of thread veins (typically 70%-80% improvement).
Procedure: A quick, often 20-minute session using ultra-fine needles for minimal discomfort.
Mechanism: The sclerosant solution (e.g., Fibrovein) irritates the lining of the vessel, forcing the walls to stick together and stop blood flow.
It is highly effective for leg veins, with better results often achieved compared to laser or IPL for this specific area.
